Data Engineer (Databricks, Python & Spark)
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be joining our data engineering team to help build out data pipelines within Databricks, utilizing Python, PySpark and SQL. This role will also be critical in designing and building out data models within a Data Warehouse / Lakehouse system. This position will also have responsibilities with Databricks administration/configuration, Denodo integration development and DevOps practices with Terraform and Azure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and Spark to process large volumes of data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements
- Design and implement data models and schemas to support business needs
- Optimize data processing and storage solutions for performance and efficiency
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust testing and validation processes
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our data engineering capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering specific to Python and PySpark
- Experience with data modelling and data warehousing is desired
- Experience with Databricks engineering and platform is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Denodo, Azure, and Terraform would be advantageous
